Boundary School District No. 51 has become the latest British Columbia school district to adopt Book King recreation management software.
From its base in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Boundary School District No. 51 operates 11 schools located along the United States border. Between them, these schools serve seven communities, including Midway, Greenwood, Beaverdell, and Rock Creek.
The area encompasses eight elementary schools, two secondary schools, and an alternative school. Facilities vary from institution to institution, but pooled together, they provide the public with access to a selection of classrooms, auditoriums, and gymnasiums.
Having previously used email-based booking procedures to rent out these facilities, school district leaders decided that reservations and payments should instead be managed through a purpose-built system. This led to them purchasing Book King’s Facility Scheduling, Point of Sale, and Public Access modules.
Although administrators were able to set up a designated outlook account to deal with email reservations, the back-and-forth correspondence associated with each rental meant that the process was becoming slow, disorganized, and labor-intensive.
With Book King software at their disposal, Boundary School District No. 51 will be able to move their facility rental services online – giving local residents the opportunity to reserve and pay for rentals in just a few clicks. This will streamline day-to-day operations and free up resources for use elsewhere.
Boundary School District No. 51 is not the first organization in the area to opt for Book King software – the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary already uses the system, as do many school districts throughout the province of British Columbia.
